Mercedes-Benz has announced the start of series production for the new GLA at its Rastatt plant. The electric version is already in production, while 48-volt high-tech hybrid variants are scheduled to join the line later in 2026.
The manufacturer describes Rastatt as a flexible site for different powertrains. Artificial intelligence, digital twins and MB.OS are integrated into the MO360 production ecosystem to support planning and faster adaptation of manufacturing processes.
Mercedes-Benz also reports investment in the low-three-figure-million-euro range to strengthen Rastatt’s long-term future. For customers, the development means more than a choice of powertrain: it reflects a gradual shift in how vehicles are built and updated across their life cycle.
