Geely Auto has announced its official entry into Austria with two initial products: the fully electric E5 and the STARRAY EM-i plug-in hybrid. The launch is supported by a partnership with AutoWallis and a network of seven official dealer partners.
This is more than shipping a limited batch of cars. The Chinese brand is establishing local sales, service and warranty coverage while giving customers a choice between a battery-electric vehicle and a plug-in hybrid that can be charged from the grid.
For Europe, the move is another example of Chinese manufacturers shifting towards long-term operations through official channels. Service quality, parts availability, transparent warranty terms and residual values will determine whether a competitive launch price becomes durable demand.
