In its 2026 business briefing, Honda outlined a broad reset of its automotive programme. The company plans to launch 15 next-generation hybrid models globally by the fiscal year ending in March 2030, beginning in 2027.
Honda is targeting a reduction of more than 30% in the cost of its next hybrid system compared with the 2023 system, while seeking more than 10% better fuel economy. It also aims to improve manufacturing efficiency by about 20% over the next five years.
For customers, the strategy is a pragmatic bridge between current demand and future electrification. Honda is also developing next-generation ADAS and plans to apply it to more than 15 models over five years after market launch.
