Mazda says the US-spec all-new CX-5 has earned the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ award. The company also reports that nine Mazda models hold an IIHS award and that the new CX-5 received five-star ratings from Euro NCAP and ANCAP.
The result is not simply about counting driver-assistance features. Independent ratings examine crash protection, collision-avoidance performance and headlight quality, giving buyers a wider reference point than a marketing equipment list.
For rental and corporate fleets, safety also has an operational dimension: clearer customer communication, lower exposure to avoidable risk and stronger confidence in the model. Ratings still need to be checked for the exact market specification and trim being considered.
