Porsche says production of the Cayenne Electric has started in Bratislava. The same flexible line builds electric, hybrid and combustion-engine SUVs, allowing the plant to respond to demand without separating each powertrain into a different operation.
For the electric model, Porsche develops and manufactures battery modules in-house at its Smart Battery Shop in Slovakia. The 113 kWh battery supports more than 600 kilometres of range and charging at up to 400 kW, while the Cayenne Turbo Electric reaches up to 850 kW.
The move shows how premium manufacturers are seeking control over critical EV components, not only design and performance. In-house battery expertise can influence quality, development speed and the flexibility of future electric models.
